The Sikh Rehat Maryada serves as a comprehensive code of conduct for practitioners of Sikhism. The application provides both Gurmukhi (Punjabi) and English translations of the most recent version of the Rehat Maryada, facilitating accessibility and understanding across diverse audiences.

This document traces its historical antecedents to the Gurdwaras Act of 1925, which established a formal definition of a Sikh. Prior attempts to establish a modern standard rehat, or code, were made in 1915 and again in 1931. The current iteration of the Sikh Rehat Maryada was finalized in 1950, drawing upon the work of eminent Sikh scholars with the aim of standardizing practices within the global Sikh community.
